Tips to Assist You Mark the Perfect Paint & Chalk Lines:
Chalking and painting out a fix-sized field take time. Although, executing it correctly will benefit you with a perfect finish. We have a place out the 5 steps to assist you to do this the perfect way.
Drag or rake first: Level out a block and fill in holes throughout the plates and beside the base path with the help of a nail drag or rake. This will help to protect the field is safe to play on.
Remove old lines: Easily drag with a spade to separate previously marked lines. This will halt build up or unevenness when fresh chalk or paint is applied.
Line up the string: Use a string to mark out your lines. Fix it to a post at the back edge of home plate and run it past the right edge of first base all the way to the foul pole in right field. Go over again this step for the third base side but run the string past the left edge of the third base. Make sure the string is tight and follow with a chalk and paint line that is at least two inches broad.
Use a template for the batter boxes: This is the simplest way to do it. Regulation sizes differ (4’ x 6’, 3’ x 6’, 3’ x 7’) based on whether it is baseball or softball, and the age group that is going to use the field. The size for Little League is 3’x6′ and is located 6” from the plate. Alternatively, you can get help to determine and mark out the batter box areas if you do not have a template.
Rake periodically: To keep the lines, rake on either side to remove debris and smooth rough areas.
